ABOUT ME
Hello there, my name is Victor Williamson. You can call me Vic, Victor or Dr. Williamson. I'm a black scholar and computer graphics professional who brings computer graphics technology to the field of 2D/3D medical visualization. I help to streamline existing medical protocols by integrating 3D modeling, digital painting and animation with mobile app development. I graduated with my Ph.D. in Engineering from UW-Milwaukee in the department of computer science with an emphasis in computer graphics August, 2020. My research interests include 3D modeling of human surface anatomy, machine learning techniques for wound recognition and classification, generating 3D models from an image and making scalable 2D animation software accessible.
HOBBIES
INTERESTS
My hobbies include promoting blacks in computer graphics and engaging in diverse story telling with themes taken from African folktales. I investigate the intersection between computer graphics technology and 2D animation production with emphasis on increasing the accessibility of 2D animation software. I try to keep up to date with forums that serve to highlight and promote minority representation in computing such as Blacks in Technology, Blacks in Computing and the National Society of Blacks in Computing.
FACTS
FACTS ABOUT ME
I graduated from MIT with both my B.S. and M.E. in computer science. I’m originally from Milwaukee, an African-American who likes fitness, weight lifting, digital story telling, yorùbá language and animation. I’m a GEM Fellow alum and an AOP Fellow alum, whose journey through computer science is as unorthodox as they come. First starting in architecture, and briefly foraying into civil engineering, management, physics and electrical engineering before choosing computer science as my forte.
